I've found that the feedback that we have recieved back from our questionnaire is very helpful. It means that we will be able to create a music video, digipak and poster for the band to the standard that the target audience expect. Below is the feedback we recieved;
1. Do you think that an artists/bands 'image' is important?
40% said no.
60% said yes.
2. In a music video do you prefer it to be performance based, narrative based, or a mixture of both?
10% said performance.
20% said narrative.
70% said both.
3. What makes a band appealing?
Their sound/music.
Good lyrics.
Good looking.
Breaking the mould of musical expectations and standards.
4. Would you prefer to watch a music video in black and white or colour?
10% wouldn't mind.
90% said they'd perfer to see colour.
5. What colours would you expect on the poster advertising an indie band?
Darker colours (brown).
Bright vibrant colours (blue/green/yellow).
Chequred patterns (black/pink/red).
6. Do you think that the band/artist should be on the poster?
20% said it would depend on the band.
80% the band should be on the poster.
7. Would you prefer to see stage photo's of the band or stills from the music video on a bands poster?
40% would like to see stills.
60% would prefer staged photos.
8. What colours would you expect on the album cover/digipak or an indie band?
Dark colours (black/brown).
Bright eye-catching colours (blue/green/yellow/white).
9. Do you expect to see the artist/band on the front cover?
30% said it would depend on the artist and genre.
70% would expect to the the artist/band on the front cover.
10. Do you expect to see a list of songs on the back on an album/digipak, or would you prefer to see something else?
10% said it doesn't matter, the cover needs to be appealing.
20% would expect to see songs as well as something else (such as an image).
70% would expect to see a list of songs.
